Diamond Umpire Academy camps provide an opportunity for me to observe, train, evaluate, and recruit umpires at all levels for my conference rosters. DUA uses a unique blend of classroom instruction, drills, film review, and live post-game feedback to reach umpires at all levels. DUA camps are a great way for umpires to be seen by many coordinators in one spot to get maximum benefit of your camp dollar. Many of the umpires I hired through the DUA camp system advanced to Conference Championships and NCAA Post Season Regionals, Super Regionals, and National Championships! I strongly recommend umpires hoping to get picked up by a college conference attend one of our camps.
Mickey Call

Coordinator of Softball Umpires

  • Colonial Athletic Association (CAA)
  • Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10)
  • Southern Conference (SoCon)
  • USA South Athletic Conference (USA South)

I’ve been involved with the Diamond Umpires Academy Camps since it began. The rewards to my conferences is seeing umpires apply what they learned and applied to become solid conference umpires. The teaching methods on and off the field are exactly what a conference assignor looks for. Many umpires who attended went on to being selected for Conference Championships and NCAA Postseason play. I highly recommend and endorse this camp to any umpire, both veteran and new if you want to get to the next level in reaching your goals. Best camps I’ve seen since starting my own career years ago.

Ed Clark
Conferences served:
  • Ken-Ten Umpire Association
  • Appalachian Athletic Conference (NAIA)
  • River States Conference (NAIA)
  • 30 colleges across 9 states

I recommend DUA Camps because you get an organization and Staff committed to making officials better. The material is first rate, the methods are proven, and the instructors are there for YOU!

As a college assignor (Ken-Ten Umpire Association), I continually look for new talent - to strengthen my staff and fill needs due to turnover. The variety of DUA Camps (geography and recommended skill level) helps officials find the right camps. That variety helps me schedule DUA Camps (and see umpires) that fit my needs.

  • Big South Conference
  • The Ivy League

Diamond Umpire Academy is the "best teaching environment in the country for such preparation." I am a committed proponent of this camp and clinic provider, as many and most of the umpires that I assign have attended camps and clinics organized by Diamond Umpire Academy. I strongly recommend that you take a careful look at the various levels of opportunity that will provide you with a great umpiring experience.
